The Font de Mai is an area of one hundred hectares, located in Aubagne, not far from Marseille, in the Department of Bouches-du-Rhone in France. It is located at the foot of the Garlaban massif and attracts many visitors thanks to its exceptional setting, its cultures, outbuildings, its beehives, its old country house and its trails. Unless otherwise noted for safety reasons, the Font de Mai area is open every day for hikers.
What to do at Font de Mai?
It is possible to enjoy the activities and walks that are organized every year between April and October. You will be entitled to nature activities, soft gym sessions, story-telling nights, photo shoots to name just a few.
In the area of the Font de Mai, you can also visit its eco-museum dedicated to wildlife, the environment, flora, geology and traditional agriculture.
La Font de Mai also regularly hosts music festivals in summer.
It is possible to go to the Font de Mai by bus, coach or car.
Access to the Font de Mai is regulated by the prefectural and even municipal authorities, and conditions are generally set the day before for the following day, from 5.30 pm.
Finally, for those who go there, there is a Visitor’s Charter that aims to preserve this beautiful place. Thus, for example, it is forbidden to smoke, to disturb the tranquility of residents, to light fires or to throw trash anywhere.
